Last year I was delighted to have a a potted zinnia gracing my deck. I shared it here. Since that post, winter came and the zinnia plant died.
Or so I thought. Eventually a stalk grew along with green leaves. And then … look, Ally!

Oh, well. It’s been hot so I don’t blame the zinnia for calling it a week.
Here’s a two-fer even though it’s not a macro photo.

Y’all take care.

Beautiful photos, Marie! Wow, that poor zinnia faded fast!

Thank you! I was so disappointed when I saw it was wilting. We’ve been getting plenty of rain, but it’s much too hot so flowers are shriveling almost as soon as they bloom.

Oh, my goodness—it came back! My family has always adored zinnias, and I have inherited that love. These are beautiful pictures of a survivor, no matter how wilty at the end (aren’t we all…).

Thank you, Ellen. We are all, indeed, quite wilty right now 😉 I am hoping another flower makes an appearance. There was a bud earlier but it shriveled before it opened. The little Zinnia that could! 😄
